Negi was the highest run-scorer for Uttarakhand in the Ranji Trophy season 2019/2020. Before playing for Uttarakhand, he played five seasons in the Karnataka premier league. He had some fine innings in the T20 league but has to prove himself in days cricket.
Dikshanshu said, I started playing as a fast bowler but shaped into batting by coach Dan Singh Kanyal. Uttarakhand didn’t have affiliation from BCCI at that time, so I decided to go Banglore, my coaches backed me. The journey was not comfortable and had to work for my cricket practice. I scored good in local cricket then selected for the KPL. I was clear from the mind that I have to improve every day, and that’s how I prepare myself. I shared a lot of with senior plays who represented India, and that helped me to develop my game. I missed last year Uttarakhand trail due to the KPL contract. But this year was sure that I have to participate in the trails. Dikshanshu said Karnataka experience helped me.
Uttarakhand cricket team was at last on the point table. We are a new side with two years experience in the domestic circuit. We are learning. We had some excellent performance in parts. We would have performed in unit, results could be different for us. We will determine, and the result will be on our side soon. On affiliation has changed the mindset of youngsters in Uttarakhand question, he said the number of players has increased, which means more competition and this is good for our future. Dikshanshu Negi is getting married in the last week of April. We wish him all the best for the upcoming season and new life.
