New Delhi: Rohit Sharma has given his test career a new life. World number one white-ball batsman couldn’t make his identity in red-ball cricket before Vizag Test. Rohit Sharma started his career in 2007 but his era began when he started opening for India in 2013. After that Rohit became hitman of world cricket. He scored three double century, unbelievable record anyone can break.
As ODI Rohit Started well in Test also. On his first test as an opener, Sharma broke many records. At Vizag against South Africa Rohit Scored century in both the innings. In the first inning, he scored 176 and in the second inning, he scored 127 runs. With this performance, Rohit breaks many records.
Rohit Sharma becomes the first batsman to scored century in both the innings in his first match as an opener. Rohit becomes sixth Indian batsmen to scored a double ton in both the innings of the test match. He joins Vijay Hazare, Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, and Ajinkya Rahane. He also breaks the record of most sixes (13) in a test match. Earlier this was hold by Pakistan former captain Wasim Akram, who smashed 12 sixes against Zimbabwe in 1996. Rohit struck 13 sixes in Vizag Test. As an Indian batsman, he broke the record of Navjot Singh Sidhu who smashed 8 sixes against Sri Lanka in 1994. Rohit now holds the record for most sixes in a match for India in all three formats of the game. Rohit also broke Rahul Dravid’s record of most consecutive fifty-plus record. Rahul Dravid did this in 1997 and 1998 while this was the seventh time that Rohit went passed to a fifty-plus score. He also becomes the first batsman to get stumped in both the innings.
With Rohit’s legendry performance India is in commanding position in Vizag Test. India gave the target of 395 runs to South Africa which is very difficult as both Jadeja and Ashwin seem to be in a great rhythm.
