Dehradun: Journey of Uttarakhand cricket team in Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy 2019 has ended with the win against Bihar on Sunday. Uttarakhand beats Bihar by 6 wickets, clinched their second win in the tournament. Uttarakhand lost 4 games in the Syed Mustafa Ali trophy. The team missed captain Unmukt Chand who was out from the tournament due to injury. Win against Bihar could be seen in a positive way, this was the last game before the Ranji season kick-off. Uttarakhand will play in the Elite group this year, they will be facing a serious challenge from the opposition but batting in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy has pressed the panic button.

Against Karnataka, Uttarakhand made 133 runs. ( 9 wicket loss) Highest Score was 39 by the skipper Tanmay Srivastava.
Against Services, Uttarakhand made 134 in 20 overs. Highest scorer skipper Tanmay Srivastava 67 runs. ( 6 wickets loss)
In the third match against Baroda team had to chase the target of 202. This is the first time when CAU batsmen made more than 150 runs. Uttarakhand lost the match 33 runs. Saurabh Rawat made the highest 70 runs.
In the fourth game, CAU got its first win of the tournament against Goa by 9 wickets. Mayank Mishra created history by taking a hat-trick. He became the first player to do so for Uttarakhand. They had to chase a target of 120 only. Uttarakhand won by 8 wickets. Captain Tanmay 39* and Saurabh Rawat 31*.
In the fifth match against Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand only managed to score 129 runs in 20 overs. Highest scorer skipper Tanmay Srivastava 57 runs. Uttarakhand lost the match by 4 wickets, thanks to bowlers who fought with this small target.
In the last match, Uttarakhand beats Bihar by 6 wickets. Bihar gave the target of 135 runs. Karanvir Kaushal scored not out 56 and Vaibhav Pawar scored not out 35.
In the whole tournament, the Uttarakhand batting line hangs between Tanmay Srivastava. Only two others managed to score fifty and only once the team is able to pass a 150 run score. On the other hand, bowler’s performance was good it could be better if batsmen would have played with responsibility. If they played like this in the Ranji season, the resulting picture will not be good for the fans. Team management has to take smart action before the tournament starts if they want to create history as they did in the 2018-19 season.
