India in a good position in the second test, Gavaskar is furious on guards

New Delhi: Security forces are at the stadium for watching the crowd, not the match for free said Sunil Gavaskar. He was furious on security guards after a pitch invader ran into the ground for Rohit Sharma. This is not the first time the pitch invader ran into the stadium.

Twice fans broke on to the field during India’s 2nd T20I against South Africa in Mohali. The same happened during India’s 1st Test against the Proteas in Visakhapatnam. Now, again on Day 3 of the 2nd Test between the two teams in Pune, a fan went past the security forces to ran inside the stadium. This incident took place just after the lunch break.

The pitch invader ran straight towards Rohit Sharma. He attempts to kiss his feet, he took the cricketer down with him, before he was taken away by the security guards. This whole incident made former Indian Captain Sunil Gavaskar angry on security guards. During the commentatory, he said, “these incidents happen because security people are not watching the crowd but are watching the match. This has been a serious problem in India. He further said the security is not on the ground to watch the match for free.

Their duty is to stop interruptions in the match. He said, put the camera on the security and check whether they are watching cricket or crowd. These things should not be taken lightly. Anyone can hurt the player. It is not easy to get into the ground. There are a lot of barricades, and still, these incidents are happening and the reason is careless security guards.
