Left-arm spinner Mayank praised Rajat Bhatia’s mindset and approach

Uttarakhand Left-arm spinner Mayank praised Rajat Bhatia on Instagram live interview by Haldwanilive.com. In the show, he shared his feeling to play for the native state. “I tried hard to play at this level and want to enjoy every second of it.”

Mayank Mishra is the first bowler to take hat-trick for Uttarakhand in T20s. He debuted in 2018 and is now a consistent member of the team. He took 19 wickets in Ranji Trophy season 2019 and was at the top for the state.

Talking about playing with senior players, he said that always boosts your energy.

“In the two season I met two high-quality players who have an unbelievable mindset. Rajat Bhatia has a lot of experience. He had played the Ranji trophy for decades and had a memorable contribution in IPL too, where his team KKR lifted the title trophy in 2012.” Rajat Bhatia was Uttarakhand’s first captain in domestic cricket. He led the team into the knockout in 2018/2019 Ranji season. Mayank said once Rajat Bhai was injured and could not even take his runup, but for the team, bowled off-spin and conceded only four runs. The whole team was inspired. Even before joining the team, thousands of people raised questions about his place in the group. He answered them fittingly and finished as the highest run-getter for Uttarakhand in Ranji Trophy.

In 2019-2020, Uttarakhand played under Unmukt Chand but could not get results.

Mayank said, “you cannot blame one person for the loss. The team remained at the bottom because we did not contribute as a unit. Tripura also had the same run as us in this year season, but they were an inch better. Uttarakhand was at the bottom so that they will be playing in the plate group. It happens in a team sport like cricket. We have started playing just two years ago, and soon with the experience will be getting results. I wish to thanks fans for supporting us, and soon we will be making them proud.”
